• Short live video series of healthy cookalong recipes for the family to make together
• For every view Danone gives £1* to charity Family Action supporting vulnerable families in the UK
• Hosts include Frankie Bridge, Fiona Connor, Hannah Michalak and Laura Jackson, kicking off with Madeleine Shaw on Wednesday 10th June on Danone UK & Ireland’s YouTube Channel
Lockdown may be easing slightly, but after 12 weeks even the most inventive parents are running out of inspiration to keep the kids entertained. By this point the focus is mainly on keeping everyone happy and what better way to do that than whipping up a storm in the kitchen. Cookalong 4 Families is just the thing to get the family cooking together and then eating together. What’s more, Danone will give £1* to charity partner Family Action, which supports vulnerable families, for every video view.
In a series of live videos featuring friends of Danone such as bestselling author and one-fifth of UK girl band The Saturday’s Frankie Bridge, kids will have fun learning to cook simple recipes using everyday ingredients including Danone’s new range of no added sugar** yogurts developed with families for families. Perhaps more importantly though parents will get a helping hand in answering the eternal “what’s for dinner?” question at least one night a week.
Frankie says: “We’ve been up to all sorts of fun with the boys over the last few months. From blue hair to homemade sand and water slides – but I really can’t wait to have some fun in the kitchen and share some easy, healthy, home cooking with other families in need of a bit of lockdown inspo!”
Keeping family firmly at the heart of the idea, Danone has partnered with charity Family Action who transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are either experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the UK.
David Holmes CBE, Chief Executive from Family Action says; “We are delighted to be working with Danone on such a fun idea. For every view of the livestreams during the campaign, they will donate £1 to Family Action. This will go toward supporting vulnerable and low-income families during lock-down, the school holidays and beyond by providing free nutritious meals along with opportunities for family bonding. We can’t wait to see what is created!”
Danone invites families to watch live to raise money for Family Action and get involved in the fun by creating the delicious recipes at home and sharing their creations on social media using the hashtags #cookalong4families #simplywhatmatters #stayathome.
